Know a place?

We're genetically programmed to avoid places with bad water. So I dig up the dirt on the best and worst coffee around Cape Town and South Africa.
Been somewhere good? Got a new menu? Find DR on Facebook, leave a comment, and I'll don my hat and investigate.

Rooti's Waterfront ★★

Cappuccino with foam and chocolate powder : R18 (Clipper)
This cup starts off well, but as we dig deeper we find the root of the problem - just a little bit burnt and a hint of roasted mud. Not a disaster if you're a little dirty and bitter; bitter even with a brown sugar broken and twirled into the pot. It's a decent size coffee, but not indecently big. The aroma saves the day, strong chocolate foam and aroma.
There's a good view of the clock tower and lost tourists; there are loads of pancake varieties to choose. BUT, one lonely little pancake on a plate is all you'll get for R55. It's barely a snack. Average, overly nosy service, okay coffee.
