Know a place?

We're genetically programmed to avoid places with bad water. So I dig up the dirt on the best and worst coffee around Cape Town and South Africa.
Been somewhere good? Got a new menu? Find DR on Facebook, leave a comment, and I'll don my hat and investigate.

Voila! Cape Quarter ★★★

Cappuccino with perfect velvet head: R16. (Illy).
A pretty good cup of the dark bean impeccably presented. This pot-au-café has all the right flavours; just needs a little va va va voom.
On entry we find a tempting display of cookies and cakes and delightfuls trapped in bell jars. There's also some baking ingredients for sale by the chefily dressed Maitre-d'.
I wish mon serveur would appear, if only to clean the table from the previous agents provocateur. A cuppa takes ages to appear.
The place is quite quiet on a busy day, could be the cute lime and pink decor. But no, I have found the reason, my baguette (Bag'oBread!) has finally arrived and it's a monster! Wrapped in paper, this massive brick of bread puts up a hefty fight and throws an intense kick of chilli and pepper. It took some time to find the filling and rescue it from the clutches of the starch monster. My tastebuds are crying for a milkshake and a lie down.
