Know a place?

We're genetically programmed to avoid places with bad water. So I dig up the dirt on the best and worst coffee around Cape Town and South Africa.
Been somewhere good? Got a new menu? Find DR on Facebook, leave a comment, and I'll don my hat and investigate.

Good Food Eatery, Foreshore, ★★

Cappucino with an artistic crema (EuroCafe), R16. A bold, lovely cup of well roasted bean. Delicious actually.
Here should be the perfect lunchtime venue, bright, interesting decor with lots of light. It's so airy because there's no people.
The thing that darkens the experience is the bread. As a sandwich place one would expect a selection of gourmet loaves and grains, but there is only one type of ciabatta available and it's as tough as an old boot, with a flavour to match. They do provide a giant carving knife to butcher this specimen, but the knife is blunt. There is the usual garden of rocket stuffed inside to make up for the meagre filling. Service is virtually instantaneous, but being the only customer this is not a feat.
The neighbour's establishment is jam packed, probably because the food is edible. People advertise their flaws, and the waiter assured me the bread was delicious before I'd even asked for a menu.
I'd go here for coffee anytime, but unless you're ready for a workout avoid the dense dough.
