Know a place?

We're genetically programmed to avoid places with bad water. So I dig up the dirt on the best and worst coffee around Cape Town and South Africa.
Been somewhere good? Got a new menu? Find DR on Facebook, leave a comment, and I'll don my hat and investigate.

Mint, St George's Mall ★

Cappuccino with crema R19 (Caturra)
Bland foam tops a dirty bitter brew. Not worth a mint, perhaps 50c. The throat-clenching aftertaste like mildew will make you long for toothpaste time. Only one cake available, largely not tasting of chocolate despite being artfully presented.
Lime green interior with forest wallpaper and wood and glass; feeling a bit queasy now.
Friendly service with knowledgable staff, but empty even on a Saturday. Quite a few local meaty dishes, as well as a few worldwide favourites. A large glass wine rack extends to the tall ceiling and lights the dark back section.
