Know a place?

We're genetically programmed to avoid places with bad water. So I dig up the dirt on the best and worst coffee around Cape Town and South Africa.
Been somewhere good? Got a new menu? Find DR on Facebook, leave a comment, and I'll don my hat and investigate.

Roasted malt beer with foam (house brew)
A perfect blend of sweet and bitter made with love and incredible skill by brewmaster Imke.
Brewing beer and brewing coffee has many similarities - temperature, selection of ingredients, and the fine skill of the beer barista must combine to create a work of art.
The incredibly complex process involving multiple stages of mashing, heating and cooling, pumping and selectively aerating the brew produces an award winning beer.
Admittedly I don't drink beer, but even I found the brew delicious. 3 styles are brewed on site: the award winning farmer's draught, the pilsner with it's honey tones, and the roasted caramel and coffee Dunke.
The premises is huge, with rooms and areas for every kind of occasion, from fine dining to sport in the low brau barrel cellar.
Lots of traditional meat dishes, very friendly staff, and fantastic lake-side atmosphere in the green hills.
