A good chocolate aroma sails around the room quite far from the harbour of the cup. A burnt roast, slightly ashy, served too hot and dirty giving a watery taste. It's ok with a dessert to save the flavour unless it's the cold, tart apple tart. Decidedly menopausal menu.
Nouveau-Africa-Spanish fusion interior played up an octave. Anachronistic wooden servant dolls at the entrance, the walls harbour artwork from the townships, with a ubiquitous TV droning on the wall to bludgeon away the remnants of any atmosphere.
Dirty tablecloths, a few things left lying around on the floor bedroom-style. Mali-esque music, new staff, but well presented and friendly, but operating on CapeTown time.
