Know a place?

We're genetically programmed to avoid places with bad water. So I dig up the dirt on the best and worst coffee around Cape Town and South Africa.
Been somewhere good? Got a new menu? Find DR on Facebook, leave a comment, and I'll don my hat and investigate.

Ferrymans, Waterfront, _★★★

Cappucino with froth, R14.
This cargo floats lightly in the mouth, not unpleasant but a bit waterlogged and sandy.Well, any port in a storm.
Food is typical pub grub, steak, sausage, and eggs. This nearly-dockside pub has rustic charm and excellent atmosphere. Live music from the waterfront is not too loud, so this is a place you can chat without waves of noise. But the management do occasionally try to play music over the live band, causing quite an ear storm. Prices are a bit heavy, but pay the ferryman and you'll get to the other side of adequateness.
